Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary, owned and operated by Indiana Audubon, launches its 2025 program schedule with “Discover Mary Gray,” a series of interactive nature experiences. Registration is now open for these unique events, showcasing the sanctuary’s vibrant ecosystem, home to hundreds of species of plants and wildlife species.

Knowledgeable guides will lead participants on 90-minute guided birding and hiking excursions on the property. These experts will share insights and expertise, helping attendees connect with nature.

The 2025 series features six activities:

  • Full moon hike under the night sky on Feb. 12 (CANCELED due to inclement weather).
  • Guided spring hike to discover emerging flora and fauna on March 8.
  • Evening stroll listening and looking for American Woodcocks on March 14.
  • Spring wildflower hike to spot early blooms on April 12.
  • “Perch and Pastries” accessible birding in the new viewing blind with refreshments on May 31 and Sept. 6.
  • Beginning birders’ hike to learn birding basics and spot local species on July 12.

Each activity is limited to 25 participants, and pre-registration is required through Eventbrite at birdandhikemgbs.eventbrite.com. Tickets are $5 for Indiana Audubon members and $10 for non-members. Youth 17 and under can register at no cost.
