Hiking Opportunities

The Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary welcomes visitors to walk the numerous trails on the property. Enjoy peace and solitude while watching for wildlife and the various plants, trees, ponds, and habitats you’ll pass through.

Visitors are welcome to walk the trails 7 days a week, all year round. The Sanctuary is open from dawn to dusk.

In 2024 try your hand at the MGBS Healthy Hiking Challenge by running, hiking, or walking a minimum of 25 miles of trails to be entered into IAS memberships, hiking trail medallions, t-shirts, and more.  Download the MGBS Healthy Hiking Challenge Entry Form to get started.

Free Admission

There’s no charge to visit the Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary. Donations are welcome and will help keep the Sanctuary open to all visitors throughout the years to come. The Sanctuary is not a state park, receives no federal or state funding. Visitor and member donations help keep the Sanctuary the beautiful place that it is. The Sanctuary has an endowment and is funded through generous donations, including funding through the Fayette County Foundation in Connersville, Indiana.
