Indiana Audubon invites families and first-time anglers to enjoy an Introduction to Fishing workshop on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary in Connersville. The event is part of the Discover Mary Gray Workshop Series, designed to connect people of all ages with nature through accessible, hands-on learning.

Led by Go Fishin’ With Clint, the workshop provides a relaxed, supportive introduction to freshwater fishing. Clint Miller, a longtime fishing educator and guide, brings all the equipment and walks participants through the basics—casting, baiting, reeling and fish handling—at the sanctuary’s scenic ponds.

The program is ideal for families and anyone curious about fishing who wants to try it out before investing in gear. It offers a screen-free, nature-centered experience that invites kids and adults to slow down, learn something new and spend quality time outdoors together.

Running from noon to 3 p.m. Eastern time, the workshop is limited to 25 participants. Ticket prices are $10 for Indiana Audubon members, $15 for non-member adults, and $5 for youth ages 17 and under. Advance registration is required and can be completed online at mgbsfishing.eventbrite.com.
