Geneva's Bird Town renewal highlighted community-led work at Limberlost Swamp Nature Preserve and Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve, including youth-led efforts that added trail boot scrapes and interpretive signage to support responsible outdoor use and increase awareness of local natural resources.
Shelby County is marking its Bird Town Indiana status with a bit of color and a lot of pride. A new community mural is taking shape on the Wortman Family Civic Theatre, created with support from a National Audubon Society grant and local partners.
Bloomington joins other Bird Town Indiana partners across the state committed to reducing threats to birds, restoring native habitat, and engaging residents in conservation.
Shelby County has been officially certified as a Bird Town Indiana community partner, becoming the first county in the state to earn the designation.
Indiana Audubon is making updates to its Bird Town Indiana program to better support the communities we serve. Beginning this year, both new and current Bird Towns will transition from annual certification to a two-year recertification cycle.
