Indiana Bird Records Committee Review List
The Indiana Bird Records Committee (IBRC) evaluates evidence for records of birds that are rare or unusual in Indiana. This list includes species for which the committee requests documentation. Records help maintain the state checklist, monitor changes in migration and vagrancy, and contribute to Indiana’s ornithological history.
Several species are regular along the Lake Michigan shoreline but rare elsewhere. A few others are regular only at isolated locations. Observations away from those sites are worth documenting. Anyone observing a species on this list, or any bird not on the official state list, is encouraged to submit written documentation and photographic evidence to the IBRC chair via eBird.
