Goose Pond Woodcock Trip
March 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDTFree
In partnership with the Indiana DNR and the Ruffed Grouse Society, Indiana Audubon will be leading an evening excursion around the grounds of Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area for one of the wackiest shorebirds around… the American Woodcock! Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) in Greene County provides quality birding and wildlife viewing opportunities on 9,018 acres of prairie and marsh habitat.
The field trip will begin just outside the visitor center on Saturday, March 21. Registered participants will meet at 7:00 PM and will involve some light waking into the grasslands. Participants should be prepared for muddy conditions. We may also enjoy some nearby owls if conditions and time allows. This trip coincides with an an afternoon waterfowl trip. Be sure to register for both if you’re interested in staying.
The field trip will be led by IAS board member Richard Garrett. Registration is required below, as most IAS trips fill fast. Registration is free for this unique event. For more information, email Richard at email@example.com.
