Goose Pond Woodcock Field Trip

In a fun partnership and amazing evening adventure, the Indiana DNR, the Indiana Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society, and Indiana Audubon welcome you for an evening excursion at Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area to watch the always fascinating American Woodcock, as they perform their mating ritual, the sky dance.
Learn about the American Woodcock’s migration, habitat needs, and how the IN DNR and our partners are working to conserve the American Woodcock. The trip will start at 7:00 PM ET at the main office entrance. The walk will involve some light walking into the grasslands. Participants should be prepared for muddy conditions.
To comply with CDC recommendations, all IAS sponsored field trips until further notice will have the follow restrictions:
- All IAS trip participants must pre-register in advance for upcoming field trips
- All IAS 2020 Field Trips have capacity limits in place via registration.
- All participants should utilize facial covering and/or social distancing during the field trip when social distancting can’t be maintained.
- All participants should plan on traveling separately rather than carpool during multiple location trips
All participants must read and agree to the IAS Field Trip Release to participate in IAS led events and trips. This field trip is free for both members and non-members, but registration is requested.
