Goose Pond Waterfowl Field Trip
March 21 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDTFree – $10
Join Indiana Audubon for an afternoon of early spring birding on this first full day of spring. We’ll enjoy the often productive waterfowl bonanza that occurs this time of year at Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area. Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA) in Greene County provides quality birding and wildlife viewing opportunities on 9,018 acres of prairie and marsh habitat.
The field trip will begin just outside the visitor center on Saturday, March 21. Registered participants will meet at 1:00 PM and bird the site through the afternoon hours, ending by 5pm. We may also enjoy afternoon raptors, in addition to the geese, ducks, swans, pelicans, and more that can be visible right now. This trip coincides with an evening woodcock hike, being offered in cooperation with the Indiana DNR that evening. Be sure to register for both if you’re interested in staying.
The field trip will be led by IAS board member Richard Garrett. Registration is required below, as most IAS trips fill fast. For more information, email Richard at email@example.com.
