Feathers and Fermentation: City Bird Tour
August 30 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm EDT
Meet Indy’s most interesting urban birds on this fast-paced tour, created to introduce you to some of our fair city’s native birdlife, going beyond the common pigeons and sparrows. Amidst tastings of some of Indy’s most impressive libations at both Ash & Elm Cider Co.. and the brand spanking new Guggman Haus Brewing Co., we’ll travel to the White River, Monument Circle, and a rooftop beer garden. With a little luck (and weather permitting, of course), we’ll hope to see eagles and falcons, herons and egrets, Chimney Swifts coming in to roost, and nighthawks at twilight searching the sky for aerial insects.
We meet and begin our adventure at Ash & Elm Cider Co. for a tasting, tour and chance to buy cider for the roadtrip. At the end of the tour we’ll return to Ash & Elm to hang out, eat, drink more cider, and chat about birds until you’re ready to head home.
Join Wesley Homoya – a native Hoosier, avid birder, IAS tour guide, and conservationist – as we explore nature and enjoy quality adult beverages.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them (we will have a limited amount available for those without them). Whether you’ve never been birding before or consider yourself an expert, you are most welcome!
Bottled water, cups and coolers will be provided on the bus. Cost is $40 per person with a portion of each ticket sale benefiting the Indiana Audubon Society.
