Feathers and Fermentation: Bird of Prey Tour
January 20, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm EST
Ever wanted to challenge a hawk to a staring contest? Maybe you’ve dreamed of being within inches of those mythical beasts, the owls. Wanna do that and more while sipping on hot mulled cider from Ash & Elm Cider Co.?
Then this is the event for you. Meet at the cidery, where after a short tour and tasting, you’ll be able to grab cans and growlers of your favorite ciders for the road trip to Eagle Creek Ornithology Center for a live birds of prey presentation by the fabulous staff of the Ornithology Center. Afterwards, we’ll briefly check out the taxidermy displays and bird feeders before getting back on the bus for a visit to Traders Brewing Company to learn about and taste their beer offerings.
The tour concludes at Ash & Elm, where you can linger awhile with plenty more cider and food options available. You do not need to bring binoculars for this event. Of course, dress with layers for the weather and time spent indoors. As always, a portion of the ticket sales supports Indiana Audubon, and this time a donation will also be made to the Eagle Creek Park Foundation, Inc.
Join Wesley Homoya – a native Hoosier, avid birder, tour guide, and conservationist – as we explore nature and enjoy quality adult beverages. Wes’ travels and ornithological employments have allowed him to live and bird in places as varied as Maui, Brazil, the Galapagos, Hungary, SE Asia, and Ecuador.
