Fall Birding in the Dunes Trip
October 26 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm EDTFree – $10
The Indiana Dunes is simply great birding in the fall. Waves of migrant songbirds, including late warblers, sparrows, and arriving winter finches make the dunes a funneling point at this time of year. Join IAS Executive Director, Brad Bumgardner for a morning of birding along the lakefront in search of late fall migrants. The exact locations are open depending on weather conditions but will likely take place at prime sites within the Indiana Dunes State Park (entry fees apply) or Indiana Dunes National Park. The trip begins at 9:00 AM local Central Time, 10:00 AM Eastern Time, and last approximately 3 hours. The trip meets at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center (1215 SR 49, Porter). Participants must pre-register, as trips fill up fast. The trip is free for IAS members and $10 for non-IAS members.
Registration is required below, as most IAS trips fill fast. For more information, email Brad at BBumgardner@indianaaudubon.org. This trip is being held in partnership with the National Park Service.
