Eagle Creek Winter Birding Field Trip
January 26, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am ESTFree – $10
Join Indiana Audubon for a morning of mid-winter birding among the often productive waterfowl haven found at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. Eagle Creek Park is the largest park in Indianapolis, and one of the largest municipal parks in the United States. Over 1,400 acres of water are searchable this time of year, as we’ll focus on waterfowl that may be wintering now that the smaller, local ponds and lakes have frozen. Additionally, we’ll be on the look out for wintering finches and other year-round residents of Eagle Creek.
The field trip will meet at the Eagle Creek Ornithology Center parking lot at 8:30am EST on Saturday, January 26. We’ll bird for a few hours, ending before 11am. If time allows, we can also drive to a few other vantage points in search of other ducks, geese, and mergansers.
The field trip will be led by IAS Board Member Rhiannon Thunell. Registration is required below, as most IAS trips fill fast. For more information, email Rhiannon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
