Birds and Butterflies at the Scott Starling Sanctuary Field Trip
July 14, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am EDTFree – $10
While mid-summer birding can be slow and difficult during the summer duldrums, there are still plenty to find for the nature enthusiast in search of something new. As breeding birds begin to quiet down, there’s an explosion of wildflowers and butterflies to fill the air. In this special IAS field trip, join Nick Kiehl for a search of the birds and butterflies at the unique Scott Starling Sanctuary in Indianapolis. Scott Starling Sanctuary features several restoration and reforestation projects through the years and is a good place for a diverse set of habitats, including early successional areas that often harbor a good variety of flowers and butterflies this time of year.
The field trip will be led by Nick Kiehl. Registration is required below, as most IAS trips fill fast. For more information, email Nick at firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants should meet in the parking lot next to the soccer fields. Registration costs are free for IAS members and $10 for non-members.
