#21in21: Geist Reservoir Waterfowl Trip

March 6 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am EST

Join Indiana Audubon for a new early spring field trip to the newest of Indiana Birding Trail sites. The Geist Reservoir and subsequent Fall Creek Trail is a great place to see deep diving waterfowl in spring migration. It’s also one of the best places in Central Indiana for scoters, Long-tailed Ducks, and loons.
This field trip will meet at the Fall Creek Trailhead near the Geist Reservoir Dam on Saturday, March 6, at 8:00am ET.  This IAS field trip is being led by IAS members Jonathon and Whitney Yoerger. Participants must pre-register, as trips fill up fast. The trip is free for IAS members and $10 for non-IAS members. Total time about 2-3 hours. For questions, message the Yoergers.

To comply with CDC recommendations, all IAS field trips until further notice will have the follow restrictions:

  • All IAS trip participants must pre-register in advance for upcoming field trips
  • All IAS 2020 Field Trips are limited to 15 participants
  • All participants should utilize facial covering and/or social distancing during the field trip
  • All participants should plan on traveling separately rather than carpool during multiple location trips

All participants must read and agree to the IAS Field Trip Release to participate in IAS led events and trips.  Field trips are free for IAS- Members and $10 for non-members. This trip is part of the 21 in 2021 Indiana Birding Trail Challenge.  Find more #21in21 Hikes Here.  We hope to see you there!  Common Loon photo by Don Gorney.
