#21in21: Birds and Butterfly Photography Field Trip
August 21 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT
While mid-summer birding can be slow and difficult during the summer doldrums, there are still plenty to find for the nature enthusiast in search of something new. As breeding birds begin to quiet down, there’s an explosion of wildflowers and butterflies to fill the air.
In this special IAS field trip, IAS Board Member, Shari McCollough, will highlight her photography tips and techniques for photographing and observing this unique group of insects and any birds still hanging around. We’ll venture into the open meadows and prairies and spend some time allowing you to try your hand at various compositions and lighting situations. Additionally, weather dependent, Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary is often hosting it’s bird banding demonstrations that morning, for those wishing for a two for one. Simply arrive early and then join us at 10am for butterflies!
Registration is required below, as most IAS trips fill fast. For more information, email Shari at [email protected] Participants should meet outside Brooks Hall. Registration costs are free for IAS members and $10 for non-members.
