Indiana Audubon Kirtland’s Warbler Tour June 10-12, 2 016

This trip will highlight the rarest of North American warbler, the elusive Kirtlands Warbler! . The tour will travel four hours north into Michigan to the heart of the breeding population. This area is a beautiful north-woods landscape of scrub pine, marshes, and majestic pine forests. Target birds include Kirtland’s Warblers, Hermit Thrush, Blackburnian Warbler, Clay-colored Sparrow, Black Tern, Osprey, Upland Sandpiper, and winnowing snipe. An attempt to locate breeding Yellow Rail will also be made.
The trip is a car pool tour, with folks meeting at Pokagon State Park at 11am on Friday, June 10. Overnight will be in Grayling, Michigan with a full day of birding Saturday, some evening birding Saturday, and some morning birding Sunday before returning back south.

Trip cost is $45 for IAS members, $65 for non members and includes all guiding. Participants are responsible for all food/drink and hotel fees, as well as transportation to and from. The leader can help with arranging car pool vehicles.
